During the last 2 1/2 weeks, we fired 700 rounds on the M16 on about 10 different gun ranges at Ft. Jackson. I surprised myself by hitting 29 out of 40 targets ranging in distance from 25 to 300 meters and as a result, earned a Navy Marksman medal and ribbon. I also earned an "expert" insignia to add to my 9 mm pistol ribbon by scoring a 229 out of 240. Not bad for a guy who doesn't like guns!
